Watsonian Squire open weekend report 2013 (Part1)
Saturday and Sunday brought a number of sidecar outfits to the Watsonian Squire 2013 open weekend. It's a area of motorcycling I've not seen much of in the flesh but the machinery and engineering certainly got my camera out.
Living in London, attaching a sidecar to a motorbike basically turns it into a car so they're few and far between on my own travels.
It does however seem to have a very loyal and determined following.
Below, a 3 sidecar display

A URAL
Behold......
This arrived on Sunday. It's called a Flexit and Squire branded and has at least two party tricks. The first being that at the flick of a button that roof slides all the way down to the front so you can get in and out. The second really blew me away. When the owners left they did a right turn out of the bike park, the sidecar leant over with the bike!! Some very unique suspension going on there and a very unusual sight to see.
There will be more info on this sidecar soon if you go to www.martinsquiresautomotiveillustration.blogspot.co.uk
Martin was able to complete a detailed full sketch of this unique outfit and get more info from the owners you need to read.
The new Watsonian showroom was opened on the Saturday by Stan Dibben - World Champion Sidecar Rider.
I genuinely had the utmost pleasure of chatting to Mr Stan Dibben for some time on Saturday so more later.
PS: he has a book out, it's sold out in print but available as an e-book on Kindle etc. It's called Hold ON!
