Beeswax from the source

Ok I'll admit this is not the most photogenic image but it's as pure and direct as you'll get. Pure beeswax ready for me to treat the linen stitching thread so it gives an extra holding bite in the leather.

A friend has been keeping bees for a few years in the country and a recent chance meet led to what you see here, purest pure beeswax.
Apologies beekeepers for any following inaccuracies but from what I recall (in the pub) the process after the main honey is collected, is that he's left with the a second stage that contains the bee's wax but also still some honey so it's then put into a centrifugal machine which leaves behind the final heavier wax. The honey is collected and the final wax is then put back into the hive for the bees to do what they do. The wax is then ready for some pan/heat treatment into the blocks you see above.

This beeswax is incredible sticky stuff. Very different from the general homogenised bought stuff. Some great testing time ahead.

Look after the bee's.
