'POP' Point Of Purchase Deus Denim Part 2

Last year Deus Ex Machina launched there new Deus Denim program created by Jim Thompson, head designer at Deus.
There's a great write up here with the story behind it all http://deuscustoms.com/blog/the-man-behind-the-threads-jim-thompson-for-deus-denim/

So to coincide with the UK Denim launch, they got in touch and asked if I could make some Point-Of-Purchase leather backdrops for them. (If you've read my Part One of this blog you'll know it was an easy Yes from me)
The brief was fairly simple but very effective. As you see in the Deus image above, the natural tone leather back patch has a really cool little detail in edging the leather in red.
So for displaying the denim jeans on some heavy old wooden workbenches, they wanted to fold the jeans into a third with the patch up and lay them on a large leather base the same tone as the patch, that also had the same Red edge as the jean patch. Nice idea.

So a trip to my local leather supplier for some natural Vegetable tanned shoulders in a good weight was done and the maker logo made to deboss the natural leather.
This was the tester on logo and red dye;
